East Lake Moshan Scenic Area: Chu Culture, Cherry Blossom Viewing, and Immersive Show

East Lake Moshan Scenic Area is a major Chu culture tourism zone in China, a research center for Chinese plum blossoms and lotus flowers, one of the world’s top three cherry blossom viewing destinations, and a popular leisure spot for local residents. As a core scenic area within the East Lake Scenic Area, it offers rich cultural and natural experiences.

To further promote the Jingchu culture, activate the night-time economy, upgrade the park’s products, and realize the value transformation of intangible cultural heritage, Moshan Scenic Area and Chucheng Cultural Tourism have jointly launched a large-scale immersive live-action drama performance titled Startling Chu at the Moshan Chu-style Ritual Street. The performance is set in a 6,000-square-meter authentic ancient-style block where every step reveals a new scene and draws visitors into the storyline.

Visitors can wander through streets featuring blue bricks, black tiles, pavilions, and towers, as if walking into a hidden utopia from a thousand years ago, experiencing the beauty of ancient style and the drama of fate.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00; Saturday to Sunday from 19:00 to 22:00; closed on Mondays all day. Performance schedule: Saturdays and Sundays at 14:30 and 19:30.
